This notice explains how manager5.com uses cookies and similar technologies stored on or read from a device.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a browser while a person uses a website. Similar technologies may remember a session state, a preference or a consent choice.
Not every item of this information directly identifies a person. Where it can be linked to a particular person or account, we handle it in accordance with the Privacy Notice at https://manager5.com/rules/privacy.
3. Technologies used by Manager5
Manager5 uses its own technologies to operate and protect the service and remember settings selected by the user. Optional measurement of the public website — both Manager5's own measurement and Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager — may start only after the user accepts analytics.
| Technology | Type and purpose | When it operates | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session and security cookies | First-party cookies used to maintain a session and sign-in status and protect forms, Accounts and the service against misuse | Where required by the function being used, an active session or Account protection | For the session or a limited period determined by the function, the active Customer relationship and security needs |
m5_website_session |
First-party cookie used for optional measurement of the public website, including recognising later visits from the same browser in Manager5 statistics | Only after analytics is accepted | Up to 180 days after it is stored, unless consent is withdrawn or the cookie is deleted earlier |
| Functional application settings | First-party cookies and browser storage that remember deliberate user choices such as appearance and menu state, current location, calendar view, table row count, language and dismissed notices | After the relevant function is used or the setting is saved | For the session; up to 7 days for menu state; up to 30 days for current location and selected calendar views; up to 365 days for appearance; up to 24 hours for cached language content; otherwise until the setting is changed or browser storage is cleared |
m5_analytics_consent |
First-party cookie that records an “accepted” or “rejected” decision for the exact current optional analytics configuration | After the user decides in the consent dialog | Up to 180 days, until the decision is changed, or until the cookie is deleted earlier |
| Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager | External Google measurement script; Google may store its own measurement identifiers or cookies | Only after analytics is accepted | Names and durations may depend on Google's current configuration; Google publishes current information |
Necessary session and security cookies are not used for optional marketing. Blocking them may prevent sign-in or the correct operation of protected functions.
4. Optional analytics consent
The Manager5 consent dialog presents one choice about optional analytics: the user may accept analytics or keep it disabled. The choice covers Manager5's own public website measurement and, where configured, Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager. It is not a multi-category panel.
Before analytics is accepted and after it is rejected or withdrawn, Manager5 does not store its own m5_website_session measurement identifier and does not start the configured Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager script. After acceptance, it may start its own measurement and one configured Google mechanism to measure website use.
Settings for advertising storage, advertising personalisation and user data for advertising remain disabled. Analytics consent is not consent to marketing or personalised advertising.
Rejecting optional analytics does not restrict access to the core Manager5 service.
5. Basis for using technologies
Session and security cookies are used to the extent required to provide a requested function, perform the contract and protect the service. Where they contain personal data, we also process it for our legitimate interest in protecting Accounts, Customers and Manager5.
We store functional application settings to carry out and remember the user's choices. We store the analytics decision so that we can respect it and avoid asking on every visit.
First-party public website measurement is used to produce visit statistics, assess how pages operate and improve their usability. Storing or reading the measurement identifier on a device and the associated processing are based on voluntary consent.
Optional analytics, including Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager, operates on the basis of voluntary consent. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier use.
6. Retention periods
The periods for known first-party technologies are stated in the table in section 3. Session and security cookies are retained only for as long as required to perform their function, protect an active Account or retain evidence relevant to security and the contract.
We do not state fixed Google cookie names or periods because they depend on the mechanism and configuration used by Google. Manager5 does not start optional measurement before consent. Current information about Google's technologies is available through the links in section 8.
7. Managing the choice
A user may:
- accept or reject optional analytics in the consent dialog;
- reopen the analytics settings and change an earlier decision;
- delete cookies or browser storage and restrict their use through browser settings.
Withdrawing consent stops Manager5's own measurement and stops it from starting Google analytics in the future. It may not automatically remove identifiers previously stored by Google; those can be removed through browser settings. Clearing m5_analytics_consent will cause Manager5 to ask again where optional analytics is available.
Deleting m5_website_session breaks the link between later visits and the browser's previous identifier. Manager5 may store a new identifier only after analytics is accepted again or while the earlier consent remains valid.
Blocking all cookies may prevent sign-in or the correct operation of functions that require a session and Account protection.
8. Google and other recipients
After analytics is accepted, Google may receive device and browser information, measurement identifiers and information about use of the pages visited. The exact scope depends on the current configuration of the Google service.
Google's information about privacy and cookies is available at:
Information about service providers and other recipients involved in Manager5 is available at https://manager5.com/rules/subprocessors. The Privacy Notice explains how transfers outside the European Economic Area are protected.
9. Browser settings
Most browsers allow users to inspect, delete or block cookies and local storage. Instructions are available in the help section of the relevant browser. Settings selected in one browser or on one device may not apply to another device.
Browser controls operate independently of the choice stored by Manager5. To fully withdraw consent and remove earlier identifiers, the user should change the Manager5 choice and, where necessary, remove stored information through browser settings.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice if the service, the technologies used or applicable law changes. A new version will state its publication date and effective date.
A new optional measurement technology will not start because a user failed to respond. Its use requires prior consent communicated through Manager5.
